Picture of the Day

Life and Death

"In the face of Death, one asks oneself invariably: Did I see enough, hear enough, observe enough, love enough, did I listen attentively, did I appreciate, did I sustain the Life?"
-- Anais Nin

This is one of my favorite quotes of all time. I originally saw it in a work of art of illuminated manuscripts by the artist Bernard Maiser.

Positive thought

My wife and I strongly believe in the power of positive thought. The idea that one can actually manifest powerful, productive change in one's life is something I have come to believe over the past 39 years of my life.

I believe it in my core but it has not been an easy road to this understanding and I still struggle with a very strong urge to default to a fear/worry based response to things I experience in my life. My wife has been a strong influence on me in giving in to the idea that the "universe will provide" and that worrying about things never achieves any positive gain. This is one of the cornerstones of our relationship and also one of the places of struggle.

When I slip into worry mode we tend to argue and things don't flow smoothly and for me, the majority of the time this involves worry about money and debt. You see, we have debt and I obsess over being debt-free and I dream of the day, sometimes even to the point of getting teary-eyed, thinking of the day we will be free of it.

I suggest reading the Tao of Abundance by Lawerence G Boldt if you have issues with debt or a stress-filled relationship with money.

4fournow is here

4fournow is here to share our experiences, knowledge and opionions with everyone. We have embarked on many journeys in our lives from birth to now and believe as many do that one is always growing and learning. We share our love for life with all including the two most beautiful little beings we will welcome into the world sometime in the next two months.
